Dear Christina
What a very difficult decision you have had to make, but seeing the vast lead that defeated you from the air must have put it all in to perspective. Your daily blog has been a great reminder to us, that we are just inhabiting a planet that shall always remain stronger than us, however hard we try to control, preserve or destroy it.
We feel priviledged to know you, you are so brave and committed and have embraced this challenge fantastically. Enjoy the pleasures of the civilised world, now you are back – and we look forward to seeing you sooner than expected! Happy Easter (from Canada, where we gaze at Whistler mountain in white out – why not come West, instead of heading East … again?!)

Gutsy effort Christina. I have been looking at your progress and comparing it to Tom Smitheringale. He is a man mountain and is finding the going tough even as we speak. No shame in having to turn back, as you’ve undertaken something few would dare to begin in a group let alone solo.

I put your lat/lon co-ordinates into Google Earth a few days ago and thought OMG that really is in the middle of nowhere, I tried to imaging myself in that posotion with over 650k’s still to go and it wasn’t easy. If it wasn’t easy for me to imagine, then I can’t even begin imagine what you were thinking at that point.

I hope the support from your friends both in the real world and the virtual one, give you some comfort from the premature end to your heroic adventure.

I will follow with interest, what happens next
