Bears in the storm

My first full day of preparations, and I was buried under a cloud of lucozade, Ovaltine and milk powder weighing the day’s rations for 60 days…. and then in the white powder of the blizzard as I went out to get a loop in just to get the rust out of my bones.

When I came back in, all the staff were running madly from one window to the next.  A bear had been sighted by the house next door and now everyone was a bit nervous for their dogs and their walk home.

You are taking “Goldfish” on your trek? Yum! I’d walk on ice for Goldfish. I’ll bet you were wishing that bears would eat MY dogs.
Love you!

Bloddy hell Mumma, you’re supposed to be coming home having shed some of that weight! How many sledges are you taking ……….?

Fair winds and big love x

Hi Christina,
We met on the Rhino Darting Experience in Natal South Africa, October 2009.
You had us all fascinated with your stories of exploration and endurance.
Hope all is going according to plan and that your expedition although tough will be enjoyable.
Good luck and best wishes from Sunny South Africa
