How long does it take to eat 50 Mince Pies?

On Saturday I was tempted by the baker’s special offer of a box of 50 mince pies… but maybe I should have bought two as the box is alarmingly close to empty! It is again time to train very hard, but eat just as hard.
The temperatures outside are a sharp reminder to the cold environment I will be again dropped off in in little over 2 months. As I run over icy patches and take deep breaths that freeze my lungs I try to take myself to that frozen land. Remember what it feels like and focus my mind to the difficult task ahead.
Back in the warmth of my flat, the Christmas lights glow and the mince pies with hot cocoa are a reward in reverse. I will think back on each of them with such desire so I try to savour every sip and every morsel.
